My teeth had a rough time during the same years my other chronic health problems worsened. Cavities every year, heat/cold sensitivity, receding gums, bad breath. I was never instructed to do anything besides brush with chemicals, floss with flavored/sweetened floss, and rinse my mouth with drying (sometimes fluoridated) solutions. There was never any mention of lifestyle, general health, diet. It never occurred to me on my own.
Did it ever occur to YOU that your teeth were more than inert structural protuberances? That they might even be intimately connected to your health at large?
